Google Earth Plus v4.3.7284.3916

Today Google released the latest version 4.3 of Google Earth. Google added lot more feature in this latest version and with all of the great user-created buildings in the 3D Warehouse. With the Redesigned Navigation system you can fly very smoothly from the heavens down to the streets of your town. The most important feature I like is, you can view the exact date of a particular satellite image.

New navigation - Google Earth is a 3D application, but we realized that a lot of our users never quite got the hang of using the tilt feature to navigate around 3D features like mountains and buildings. Not only that, but even for expert users, if you tried to get down to the ground and navigate at street-level, navigation was cumbersome and confusing. Well, no more.

We spent a lot of time rethinking how users interact with 3D data. We realized that when in outer space and far above the ground, you really want standard map-like controls that allow you to pan and zoom smoothly. However, if you want to get down to the ground and check out a city street, you really want a street-level navigation mode like you'd typically find in a video game.

Finally, you want to be able to seamlessly transition between these modes as you fly down to visit a city and fly back out to space. So we modified the zoom control. As you get closer to the ground, your view slowly tilts, almost as if you are parachuting onto the ground. We also added a new control, the "look" joystick, which allows you to look around. If you are on the ground, you can change your viewpoint and look up at buildings, down canyons, or over at the rising sun. If you use the "pan" joystick when on the ground, you will follow the ground as if you were walking on it.

More, faster 3D buildings - What good would fancy new navigation controls be if there wasn't something new to look at? While we're regularly adding new user-created SketchUp buildings submitted through 3D Warehouse, we decided to take things up a notch for this release by including photo-realistic models for dozens of new cities. Take a spin around Tokyo, Munich, or Boston to get a taste. We've also significantly enhanced our approach to rendering 3D data to greatly improve performance and realism.

Here comes the sun - The world may not be flat, but something about the lighting in the old Google Earth sure was. If you've gotten tired of seeing everything lit with the mid-day sun, then we have just the trick for you. Click on the new sunlight button on the toolbar in Google Earth, click the play button on the time slider, and watch the sun as it circles around the globe. Try getting close to the ground and look up at the eastern sky, and see the sun rise. I'm more of a sunset kind of person, but you can just look to the west and watch the sun disappear behind the hills too. While it's no substitute for the real thing, it is great fun to play around with.

Street View - Ever since we introduced Street View in Google Maps back in May 2007, people have been asking us when the same data would be available in Google Earth. Well, that day is today; using the PhotoOverlay feature available in KML 2.2 (or should I say the OGC standard KML 2.2,) we have made all of the Street View panorama photos available as a layer in Google Earth. Double-click on an icon to fly into a photo, and navigate from photo to photo.

Imagery acquisition date - As Product Manager for Google Earth, I'm fortunate enough to get to talk to a lot of our users, and usually the first question I get asked is, "When was the imagery taken?" With the new imagery acquisition date feature, I no longer have to answer. Now you can just move your mouse cursor over an area you're interested in and see when the image was taken right in the status bar in Google Earth. We don't have dates for everywhere, but we have great coverage, so have fun exploring.

12 new languages - When Google Earth first launched in 2005, it came in any language you wanted, as long as it was English. We've come a long way since then, with support for 26 languages in Google Earth 4.3.

New additions include: Danish, English (UK), Spanish (Latin American), Finnish, Hebrew, Indonesian, Norwegian, Portuguese (PT), Romanian, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.

With FaceShop you only need one photographic reference, unlike Poser's Face Room, which requires a portrait depicting both front and side views. Although it is possible in FaceShop to create a satisfactory finished model from a three-fourth portrait using the "mirror" feature, a straight-on-portrait gives the best results.

For this article I am reviewing the Professional version. In addition to FaceShop Pro, I utilized two additional software programs: Adobe Photoshop CS3 and e frontier's Poser 6. Although I used Photoshop for pre-prepping the photograph for my FaceShop Pro example, an Image Editor is not necessary to utilize the program.

The first step in working with either version of FaceShop is to find the perfect image. FaceShop imports the following file formats: JPEG, TIF, GIF, BMP or PCX. The specifications for the reference photograph that I used was 273 x 336 pixels at 72 dpi. Larger images can be used as the reference image, however images of 800 pixels x 800 pixels, or less, work extremely well. I highly recommend using a portrait (photograph or artwork) with a full frontal view of the face. The 'mirror image' function works well for minor imperfections, however, starting with a near perfect image creates a final image with less need for post work of the final output image.

Portable Rapidshare Manager + Bonus

The RapidShare Manager (RSM) makes it easy to upload and allows multiple downloads at the same time. You can resume interrupted uploads and downloads and, as a Premium user, you can store files of up to 2,000 megabytes in size at RapidShare.

Premium Account
Log into your Premium Account with your access number and password. All settings are stored, so that from now on each upload is carried out with your access data. The tool is also for Free users or owners of Collector's Accounts.

Upload
Uploading your files with the RSM is quite simple: Open the tab Upload and drag and drop all the files you want to upload into the list. Alternatively, click on the menu bar on the blue button "Add" to select the files. You can choose between several accounts (Premium, Collector or Free). If the upload is carried out using a Collector's account, enter the appropriate data and then click on "Upload".
You decide for yourself how much is uploaded at the same time. Uploads in the queue start automatically when on ongoing upload is completed. To get to the download link, right-click on the relevant line and select "Copy download link".

RSM Link
You can create an RSM-link that refers to several files for other users of the RSMs. Choose those entries from the list of uploads that you want to combine in the RSM link. Marked entries will be shaded in blue. Then click on the menu bar on top on "Create RSM link". Now open a new window. On top, you will see the links that you have selected. You can change the combination again, add further links or copy a text in the field, from which RapidShare links will be automatically extracted. If you want to delete the entire selection, click on "Clear text". You also have the facility to write a comment that will be displayed to other users during the download. The "Generate RSM" button creates a link that can be moved to the clipboard by clicking on "Copy URL". It can be pasted into an e-mail by right-clicking on the mouse.
Please note that not all users work with the RSM, and therefore you may also want to offer individual download links as an alternative.

Download
Open the tab Download and click the blue button "Add". You can either copy RapidShare download links into the list, or insert any text containing links. By clicking on the button "Transfer links", they are extracted from the text and checked.
A message informs you whether the links are correct and the files are available. If you do not want to download all the links that have been found, you can uncheck the unwanted ones by reversing the selection. Then click on "Download".
You have the option to change where the files are saved and enter a comment regarding the download. You can check this comment at any time, change it or insert one afterwards. Click the right mouse button on the relevant entry and select "Show comment".
You decide how many downloads should happen at the same time. Waiting entries start automatically when the ongoing download is completed. When a file is saved completely, it can be opened with a double click.

Account/Settings
The RSM has many functions, so that you can customize it. For example, you can change proxy settings, language, notifications and many more options to your liking.
